Initial approval of the Modification of the Urbanization Project and of the Vapor Cortés Rezoning Project, in Terrassa

GMG 20/07/23

Last June, the Terrassa City Council initially approved the modification of the Urbanization Project for Polígon I of the Vapor Cortés Sector of Terrassa. At the same time, the modification of the Reparcellation Project was also initially approved. These two milestones give a definitive impetus to the transformation of a central space in the city of Terrassa. In the short term, the public exhibition of each document and the receipt of mandatory reports from the supply companies and certain public bodies will proceed to achieve the final approval of each of the projects during the coming months. Subsequently, tenders can be submitted and the development works can begin. We must remember that Polygon I of the Sector consists of 60,603m2 of surface and is mainly located between Pi i Margall, Pare Llaurador, Josep Trueta and Passeig 22 de Juliol streets. The execution of a new central promenade on Carrer Frederic Soler is planned and the Sector has a total building capacity of 45,155m2 of free residential roof, 11,339m2 of protected residential roof, 22,807m2 of tertiary roof and will have a set of municipal equipment that will partly be satisfied by the rehabilitation of some of the existing industrial buildings. IMPLICA took over the Management of the Compensation Board that develops this Sector in January 2018 and we are very pleased to have achieved these two milestones despite the fact that the time frame has been longer than we initially anticipated. On behalf of the Compensation Board, we would like to thank the dedication, effort and commitment of the drafting teams of each document, BERRYSAR and GMG PLANS AND PROJECTS respectively; of the current Secretary of the Board, Xavi Figueras and his professional team from NUCLI ADVOCATS; of the previous retired Secretary Josep Ma. Arias and the politicians and professionals of the Terrassa City Council who have participated in the review of the aforementioned projects to achieve these two milestones that have a high technical complexity in an already consolidated urban plot.

We work for sustainability, to mitigate climate change, and to leave a better world for future generations.
