GMG to build a passive wooden house in Matadepera
We already have the building permit to start work on a passive house built in wood in Matadepera. After the success of the wooden house we completed last year in Bellver de Cerdanya, we have proposed to some clients to build their own with this construction solution.
The single-family house must respond to a second life cycle of a family facing the stage of emancipation of the children and that once completed, their usual house would be too big. The clients have asked us for a much smaller and more sustainable home. We proposed to GMG to build a house with low energy consumption, with photovoltaic energy production and to build it with low environmental impact materials.
The programme consists of two bedrooms and a multi-purpose studio, all developed on the ground floor to favour accessibility and a small attic. It also has a garage for a single vehicle, two bathrooms, a laundry room, a living-dining-kitchen connected to an outdoor porch that will have the function of a summer dining room and is in contact with a swimming pool, as they are used to enjoying one, they did not want to give it up.
The structure of the house is made of CLT wood panels. Inside, the structural wood itself will be visible in most of the spaces. On the outside, all the walls will be clad with rock wool sate and a stucco finish, to blend in with the more traditional constructions of the village. The roof will be finished with zinc or ceramic tiles, and photovoltaic panels will be installed to support the energy demand of the house. DHW production will be provided by an aerothermal system while heating and cooling will be provided by direct expansion heat pumps with low velocity air circulation.
We plan to start the works in the fourth quarter of the year, once the tendering process with the construction companies has been completed.
