GMG completes the comprehensive renovation of a listed house in Barcelona

El passat mes de setembre GMG ha finalitzat l’obra de reforma integral d’un habitatge unifamiliar entre mitgeres situat en el casc antic del barri d’Horta a Barcelona.

The intervention on the property, included in the catalog of Barcelona’s Architectural Heritage, has consisted of rethinking the distribution of the house to achieve more functional and multipurpose spaces and renovating all the facilities in accordance with the requirements and needs of the property At a formal level, the original elements of the facade that had been lost have been reproduced, such as the original solid and worked wooden door, the semi-exterior space of the access gate and the portico windows. Inside, it has been chosen to show the original construction elements of the house, provoking the contrast of the contemporary elements that have been introduced with the old ones of the building, such as the exposed ceilings or the Catalan vault of the staircase.

In this project, which was carried out in just three months, GMG had the excellent collaboration of the interior design studio CASAMITJANA for the definition of the interior spaces, the coordination of the work and the choice of furniture.
