Initial approval of the POUM of Santa Maria de Martorelles

Last March 20, the Santa Maria de Martorelles City Council Plenary initially approved the Municipal Planning Plan, drafted jointly by GMG and DOPEC.

This new plan responds to the majority of the inhabitants of the municipality and the municipal government to limit the growth of the town, avoiding the extensive urbanization of land, and strengthening the protection of the Serralada Litoral Natural Park, which occupies a large part of the surface of the municipal term.

At the same time, it introduces reserves of sheltered housing and new, more compact types, to be able to cover a wider range of demand and ensure that young people have the opportunity to emancipate themselves in the same municipality.

The POUM also provides notable improvements regarding the protection of heritage – catalog of goods of cultural, artistic or environmental interest, catalog of farmhouses – and the natural values of the environment, based on the study and delimitation of paths, streams and torrents, and the different types of non-developable land.
