GMG’s engineering team develops the first BIM-REVIT project of facilities.
GMG has been working in Archicad for years and is now extending BIM to Revit as well, offering engineering projects in this other format. Thus, GMG’s technical engineering team is currently developing the electrical, mechanical and special installations project for two residential buildings in Vilanova i la Geltrú. The building has been designed to obtain the best possible energy classification (A/A) and will also have BREEAM certification. With this unique project, GMG concludes the adaptation of its design processes towards BIM, this being the first project to be delivered entirely in REVIT, establishing a design protocol that will optimize time and costs of execution and materials. Within the project programme, all the systems necessary to achieve the established sustainability objectives will be implemented and modelled. These systems include aerothermal energy (already with R-32) for the production of domestic hot water and air conditioning, ventilation with heat recovery and new filters with active carbon, the electrification of 100% of the parking spaces and the use of rainwater and grey water for subsequent use in irrigation and flushing of toilets respectively.
In addition, the necessary pre-installation for a photovoltaic solar energy production system will be installed to cover the demand needs of the project’s common services. The GMG team, in these complex times, continues to focus on sustainability and carbon footprint reduction in its projects.
