GMG presents the Modification of the PMU Vapor Cortès at the Ágora d’Urbanisme
Last November 15th, the 4th edition of the Ágora d’Urbanisme was held, a day organized based on an agreement between the Department of Territory and Sustainability of the Generalitat, the Association of Urban Architects of Catalonia (AAUC) and the College of Architects of Catalonia (COAC) to share the most relevant urban planning approved by the Territorial Planning Commissions throughout the year 2021. In this session, 14 urban plans were presented, which the jury select for their technical interest, to perform in an emblematic space, to manage complex aspects, or for the innovation they bring. Among them was the Modification of the Urban Improvement Plan for the Vapor Cortès Sector, in Terrassa, drawn up by GMG. This PMU Modification was selected for its interest from the point of view of the viability of the urban planning action and the difficulty of intervention in the consolidated urban fabric. It is a plan that aims to reverse the situation of stagnation produced in from the real estate crisis of 2008 and allow the execution of this sector to begin by defining a series of strategic actions such as the punctual redefinition of planning, the reduction of urbanization charges, the compensation of indemnities, or other measures to facilitate urban management.
