GMG is carrying out adaptation works for the Ciutat Meridiana primary care centre

The Catalan Institute of Health (ICS) commissioned GMG, in 2022, with the comprehensive adaptation project of the first floor of CAP Ciutat Meridiana. These works, planned to provide the center with updated spaces and the appropriate conditions for fire protection, health and energy saving, are in their final phase, with an expected delivery date of May 30, 2023. The project and the works in the execution phase have been developed, through a transversal work between the ICS, GMG and the managers and workers of the center, with the clear objective of having modern and flexible spaces that will allow the users to have for many years of a quality service. At a technical level, it can be noted that the global energy bill will be reduced, in a first phase, by between 70% and 80%, with a reduction in the associated CO2 emissions. To achieve this, the entire thermal envelope has been modified, turning the building into a very good energy container and it has been equipped with active “tilting” systems with an energy consumption and demand in correspondence with the use Thus, for example, the total modification of the lighting (LED) with DALI regulation, allows each space to have a level of artificial light in correspondence with the natural light that enters the premises and its occupation. Additionally, a new VRV air conditioning system with heat recovery has been designed which, in addition to allowing individual temperature regulation, produces DHW completely free of charge. Finally, as part of the adaptation of the center, the ICS has approved the installation of a 30kWp photovoltaic solar collector field. This adaptation work, centered on the first floor of the building, is the initial phase of a comprehensive project that will turn this center not into an NZEB, but into a PEB (Positive Energy Building).
